Getting to Mauna Kea Tea

If you are reading this, you may be lost or just being extra cautious. There is limited cellular service in the area. Make sure to update your google map before you are in Ahualoa neighborhood.

Driving Directions

From Waimea & Kona side on Hwy 19:

1. From Hwy 19 after Waimea, follow the sign toward Ahualoa and turn right on Kapuna Rd. (mm46)
2. Follow the paved road all the way to the stop sign.  Turn a sharp right onto Old Mamalahoa Hwy.
3. Go 0.6 miles. Mauna Kea Tea is on the right side.  A black mailbox marked 46-3870 marks the driveway entrance.

From Hilo side on Hwy 19:

1. From Hwy 19 in Honokaa, follow the sign toward Ahualoa and turn left across from TEX Drive-In (Mauna Loa Street, mm 43)
2. In 100 feet, turn right onto Old Mamalahoa Hwy.
3. Go 2.4 miles staying left at the junction with Kapuna Rd by Ahualoa Hog Farm.
4. Mauna Kea Tea is on the right side.  A black mailbox marked 46-3870 marks the driveway entrance.

If you are lost in the Ahualoa neighborhood:

Which street are you on?

• If you are on Kalehua rd., you still got 1.5 miles up to go on Old Mamalahoa hwy.
• If you are on Kapuna rd., you still got 0.8 mile up to go on Old Mamalahoa hwy.
• If you are on Kumupele rd., you are very close. Continue up the Old Mamalahoa hwy a few hundred yards.
• If you are on Puaono rd., you went up too far.
• If you are on Kahana rd., you went too far. This road circles around the large Ahualoa area. You need to go back to Old Mamalahoa hwy.

Arriving at the Mauna Kea Tea

When you arrive at the address, you will see a small purple signage with a white teapot by the entrance gate. Please park in an parking space.
